Affectionately referred to as the "swiss army chainsaw" of the programming world or the "duct tape of the internet", Perl is one of our favourite languages. We have been developing commercial Perl solutions for more than twelve years, and happily the language and community have continued to evolve and support modern approaches to software development.
There are some misconceptions around Perl as a direct result of its early success and longevity in the internet industry.
We develop in modern, object-oriented Perl and:
- Use robust, proven libraries and frameworks such as Catalyst MVC Framework, DateTime Project Modules, and Template Toolkit.
- Implement test suites using TAP (Test Anything Protocol) based modules like Test::More, Test::Exception, and Test::MockObject.
- Evaluate and leverage some of the more than 15,000 distributions on CPAN - the Comprehensive Perl Archive Network repository.
- Make use of the CPAN toolchain for packaging and installing modules we develop.
- Participate and contribute to the Perl community including local Perl Monger user groups.
